Cover Song Project due on 10/16
Class performances of cover songs will take place on Thursday, 10/16. Any students who would like extra help can come in at lunch on Tuesday, 10/13. |
Basic skills assessments begin 9/15
Students wishing to test out of the "High School Toolkit" case study can take the basic skills assessment on Monday, September 15. Don't forget to bring back the Instrument Check-Out form (on the last page of the syllabus) so you can practice at home! |

Boy is Blue recordings due 3/10
Student recordings of "Boy is Blue" including performance of TUNE or SOLO 1 and Improvisation are due in class on March 10. Students are encouraged to take their instruments home and practice this week! |
"No One" Performances this week
Beginners must perform the Chorus of "No One" and advanced students must perform the "Pre-Chorus" and "Chorus 1" of "No One." Students may also choose to do an additional song, "MacPherson's Lament" or "Boy is Blue." |
Zappa Project Performances on Oct. 25
The final performances for our Frank Zappa case study will be on October 25. Good luck! Any individuals or groups needing additional practice can work before school or at lunch on Wednesdays and Thursdays. |
Homework due Oct. 7
Performances of part 1 of Project Zappa will happen on Monday. Those students who are going on the Sphinx Virtuosi trip should bring money in for dinner by Monday. |
Homework Due Sept. 13
Instrument Check-Out Forms should be signed and returned by September 13. Permission slips for the optional field trip on October 8 should be returned with $4 payment by September 20. |
Supplies 2013-2014
All students should come to Music class each day prepared with a folder clearly labeled "MUSIC" with loose leaf paper inside (8-10 sheets) and a pencil. |
