There will be no Jazz Ensemble for the 2018-2019 school year. Middle school students interested in Music extracurriculars should take the Song & Dance after school. High school students are encouraged to take part in music production open studio!

The MELS Music Collective will start on October 15. All playing levels and musical interests are welcome: the Music Collective is a space for students to work on their own musical projects, with help from peers and teachers, and for us to make some music together. Mr. Shieh and Ms. Richardson will sponsor the Collective together this year, and all students in grades 8-12 are welcome to join.

See Mr. Shieh or Ms. Richardson for permission slips to enroll in Jazz Ensemble for Semester 2! There will be some busking on Metropolitan Ave this semester so stay tuned!

The MELS Jazz Ensemble will be playing for the Musical Revue beginning in February. See Ms. Beidler or Mr. Shieh if you are interested in joining the musical pit orchestra & rock band!

All returning Jazz Ensemble members are invited to MELS on Tuesday, 9/8 for lunch and instrument set-up from 11am-1pm.  We are also accepting new members!  All students who play an instrument are invited to join.  Jazz Ensemble is offered for high school credit towards the New York Arts Diploma.  See Ms. Beidler or Mr. Shieh for additional information.
