All students have set their own commitments for bringing their best work to our POL on 3/16. We will be performing three songs as an orchestra, and students will be presenting their "Reverse Thread" covers of songs from outside the U.S. in their jazz combos. There is a required rehearsal after school on Monday from 3:30-4:15pm.

Students have selected their rhythm and harmonizing instruments for our new case study, and have until January 7 to demonstrate basic proficiency on them. Any students who wish to check out their instruments need to have a signed permission form on file!

Students will be recording parts of DRAGON SLAYER and HIP HOP ETUDE #12.

This test will include ALL 16 NOTES! Study hard!

The third note-reading test will take place on Tuesday, October 8. It will cover 12 notes, including all notes on the A, D, and G strings.

The second note-reading test will take place on Tuesday, 9/24. It will include 8 notes: D, E, F, G, A, B, C, and high D.

Make sure you review the 8th grade overview with your family, and return the signed permission slip for checking out your instrument!

All students are required to attend. All music students are performing! Invite your parents! Invite your grandparents! Invite your aunts and uncles and sisters and brothers and neighbors! It's going to be EPIC.

Students will be recording DRAGON SLAYER and PERFECT for assessment on Tuesday.

The big note-reading test: 16 possible notes + 15 seconds each slide is on Friday. STUDY! See Mr. Shieh for help! Ask your friends to quiz you... make this your best test!
